Overview

Bentley Mills makes commercial carpet in the City of Industry, California, for hotels, workplaces, and public interiors. These photographs cover the Modern Curator Collection No. 1, three coordinated styles called Look Sharp, Seeing Things, and Trained Eye. They were shot as product plates and as wider interior sets for print, web, and trade.

Approach

Carpet is read by the eye and the foot. Raking light brings out the pile and the weave up close, and wider frames show each pattern at the scale of a room.
